Has anyone else got the Garmin Mobile XT software to recognise the internal GPS on the n96 - i have it fully installed with the latest version but it just says 'Unable to detect GPS device'. anyone with a workaround?

Only suggestion I can think of is going into the settings, selecting Positioning, Positioning methods, and making sure Intergrated GPS is ticked.
I'd be interested to see how it turns out, as I'm thinking this would be better than paying a monthly subscription for Nokia Maps navigation. |

Is Garmin significantly better than Nokia Maps then and worth the price tag?

I tried Nokia maps out to see how they faired compared to the Garmin and I found the turn by turn instructions very weird, thankfully I used them in places I knew better than to follow the instructions given. For poi's the Garmin is great but Nokia blows it out of the water. I use Garmin for driving in the UK/USA and Nokia when on foot in other countries. |

Yea, I had Nokia try to get me turn right out of a left turn only intersection!
But it was late, and wet, so I went left, turned right, put the hammer down and got the arse end of the MR2 out and ended up going right ![]() |

The trouble comes when people follow the GPS rather than remembering to look at the road as well. |
