No N-Gage for the N96

No N-Gage for N96

As highlighted in our forum, Nokia are showing on the NSeries website that the N96 will NOT be compatible with the N-Gage platform.
So if this is correct - and it could be that it is not showing as compatible until the phone is launched, how much of a blow is it to the N96?

Nokia are aiming this phone at people who will be listening to the music player or watching videos, making full use of the 16 GB of storage, so will this target audiance be that worried about not being able to get N-Gage games? Other java games should still be available after all.

Possibly this is more a blow for the N-Gage platform - if it is not going to be compatible with the latest top of the range N-Series phone then does this mean that Nokia will quietly let the platform drop? With nearly half the original phones that were promissed to be compatible at the launch of the N-Gage platform, still awaiting release of compatible software, and only a handful of current phones able to run the system, perhaps Nokia will let it die quietly.

Further clarification is needed from Nokia, on both issues, but in the meantime, let us know your thoughts, either here or on the N96 forum.
